After weeks of trial and error... and a some help from Tom, I finally have HUMIDITY... SWEEEEET!

Well Ty, even though you abused me in the other thread I'll let you in on the secret (at least the one that worked for me). Very warm water poured directly into the substrate (coco coir/cypress mulch), mush it around like bread dough, & a glass aquarium lid. Poof... humidity! :)

If you want to kick it up a notch, consider adding a waterproof heat rope under your substrate. It will heat the water, which will rise up as humidity and heat, and does it 24/7.

Hi Mark. I've been using an under tank heating pad. Would a heat rope do any more than this is doing? Thanks!

Mark, would there be any danger here if the substrate got too dry. Could it be an electrical hazard or a heat danger for the torts?
