Around two or 8 inches it doesn't have to be as high. However, some humidity and/or a humid hide is always good for any age.

I was just wondering the same thing, I don't have a closed tortoise house so I put some foil over the top to keep the humidity and temp up and it looks like a spaceship in my room haha

Ok. My sulcata is 2 years old but only 5 inches long so I will keep it up. Thanks!!

Lol. Our sulcata enclosure has foil on it too. But hey, it works!

If you can get them to around 6-8" smooth, they will usually continue growing that way. If they are already lumpy, then I'd continue with the high humidity routine until they were around a foot long.
