Hey all! Quick question, how do i keep the humidity up in my torts enclosure.? His substrate is wet, and the temp is about 85°. What do i need to do different? As of right now the humidity is sitting at about 40-50%...20141021_201343.jpg 20141021_204356.jpg 20141021_204412.jpg

Get rid of one of the lights and cover more of the top.
The heat from the lights causing the humidity to dissipate.

Correct it does do that. However you also don't want high humidity with anything lower than 80f temps. Best way to retain heat and humidity is a closed chamber.

I agree with the previous posters, and add a humidifier. Cover your top, use a ceramic heating element to maintain temps. Make sure your substrate is nice n moist, and doesnt dry out from your basking lights.

Don't get rid of a light if you need it to keep the temps up. Close off the top as stated. You can cover it with tin foil as a cheap fix. Make sure the night temps stay no lower then 80 but be sure there is no light. Toms threads below will explain.
