I went outside to check on the new RES born near my lake I moved up to our pond. One was missing. I found him. After picking up a water plant yesterday Boris went under it. I squished him and didn't even know it. I feel like a horrible turtle mother. I gave him his last rites and a funeral. I feel so bad.

So very sorry for your loss. I seriously doubt that a single tragic accident makes you a bad turtle mom: stuff happens. That applies to both animal companions and humans. My sincere condolences.:-(
