Thanks guys, he's really growing. It's nice and warm out today (80) so i'm gonna take him outside for some fresh air.

Finally took some pics, figured I should seeing as how today he reached the 100 gram mark.

If his head hadn't been moving this would've been a neat pic.

I used the Fluker's calcium container as a reference for size.

In this pic you can see where the scutes are slightly raised but ALL of the new growth is completely smooth. This picture doesn't show it too clearly but you can kinda see what i'm refering to.

Oh and just in case anyone asks, he is in a tropical environment with humidity ranging from 80% - 100%. Temps go from about 95 high side to 78 low side. At night, it stays around 80 all over sometimes gets to 75 but rarely. I used to keep it warmer but I didn't find it to be necessary. He seems to be thriving just fine. He's very active and is always cruising around. If I start messing around near the enclosure or remove the lid he will come charging out of his hide looking for food. I offer fresh food once in the morning and once in the evening. Soaks daily, sometimes twice if I feel like it but usually just every morning before I feed him.

Oh and as far as age, he's almost 6 months now.

It actually looks smoother than the last pic you posted of it. Still very similar to mine. I think we had the same issue...just a growth spurt at around the same age that looked like pyramiding but may not have been. A few of the initial black growth rings on mine are still a little higher than the actual scute itself, barely noticeable, but they appear to be leveling out with new growth.

From all the pics I've seen so far of various leopards, I think a completely cue ball smooth tortoise has a lot to do with genetics. Perhaps how it was incubated.

Looks good!

How do you get him to stretch out like that for the pics? Mine only does it in the soak or under the basking light. Outside the enclosure it only runs around trying to go...somewhere.

I spend a lot of time with him and he's really come out of his shell so to speak. When I first got him he was very shy but he's pretty bold now.

Thanks for the compliments!

Now that I look at it, pretty much all his pics are of him all stretched out, I guess he really doesnt care.

So does he do that as soon as you set him down, or struggle a little first?

Mine is all struggle. lol As soon as it comes out of the soak it's on. That's why it's almost impossible for me to get a measurement pic now.

No struggle at all. If I touch his face he will retract but that's about it. He pretty much leaves his feet dangling out all the time. If I come into the room and start making noise he will become active and if I mess around inside his enclosure he will approach my hand.

I can sit and watch tv with him in my lap and he will just sit there and hang out, occassionally walking around but for the most part, just relaxing, kinda strange I guess. I don't want anyone to get any wierd ideas or anything, I don't do that often, just been a few times when i've been sitting there and forgot to put him up so he will hang out with me for a little while.

That's pretty cool. I had two hatchling Uros from the same clutch, as well as two bearded dragons from the same clutch. In each case, one was very relaxed and approachable, and the other was skittish and sort of mean. The mean Uro would hiss, and the mean dragon would puff up and gape its mouth open.

Reptiles like everything else have distinct personalities. Looks like yours has a good one.

Thanks. I'll say this though, a buddy here in town has a Gpp and even though mine is approachable and not skiddish, there's a HUGE difference between his and mine. His is just awesome, as in it will almost chase you down if you come in the enclosure.
