Is this hawksbeard and ground mallow? If so they should both be edible right? And if edible what percentage is a safe percentage in their diet. Both have begun to grow all over my front yard. Thanks

I don't know what the first one is. It almost looks like mint, but it's not.

The second one might be prickly lettuce or hawksbeard - edible.

No, it's not mallow. If anything, it's creeping charlie...but it just doesn't quite look right.

Where abouts do you live? I've got the second one growing here I think in the PNW. Does it produce yellow flowers and runners that produce roots?

I'm from south Louisiana. I will be checking the root systems tomorrow because I know mallow makes a deep taproot and ground ivy has a spread shallow root system. I don't recall noticing flowers :/ . I'll post some more pictures tomorrow

From the mallow I know, that's not mallow.

No I'm having trouble downloading the app. And what makes it more confusing is that the root system is a mix of taproots and spreading roots
