Hard to tell from those pictures, but I'm guessing the top turtle is male and the bottom one is female.

Now I have an even sex ratio, though I'm scratching my head over how I've gone from zero to ten box turtles in the last year. This also makes three stray three-toes in the last couple of weeks, I guess Santa Barbara has a box turtle problem?
