ID these babies, please?

My neighbor was given these babies by a friend who found them in her yard. My neighbor is an 8th grade teacher and she and her kids did all the research about baby box turtles and have a good enclosure set up. She wanted to CONFIRM their identity, so she contacted both PetSmart and PetCo, each of whom was baffled by the pictures and told her they're NOT baby box turtles, but are "land tortoises." They look like baby boxies to me- what do yall think???

Those are Box Turtles for sure. What kind? Look like 3 Toe Box turtles, count their toe nails on their back legs (hard to see in the pictures).

3toedbox turtles. People at petsmart and petco seriously should get fired. I would rather hear stories of employees admitting that they simply don't know , than acting like they do and be 100% wrong .
