Looks like some sort of box turtle.
You guys are so lucky, we get frogs

It's a box turtle. I'm not good at IDing which kind. I think an ornate box turtle

If they are native to where you live, let it be free. If it's not native take it in and try to find the owner.

I'm pretty sure he's an eastern! Thanks everybody! I'll definitely leave him be, I just moved him out of the road and somewhere there's some shade so he won't roast. He seems to be happy, he even made a little burrow in our garden!

Very pretty. I am always jealous of those who see them. I grew up in the poconos and we never ever saw any box turtles. It's too bad their habitat is declining so badly.
