Indoor cage expansion

Hello,

I have a 2 and 1/2 year old Russian tortoise. Her cage was around 3 feet by 2 feet. I recently put an addition on it so now it is 7x2. Im curious as to how my indoor enclosure is and I'm also wondering how I can prevent her from scratching so much. She has seemed to scratch less at the sides since I've added more room.

They really like to dig. If you can make the substrate deeper that will help.
