My next question is about what material to use on the inside of my enclosure. I was considering using a kilz interior/exterior primer followed by this countertop paint, which is a one part epoxy paint, to help seal the wood. My other thought is to use some kind of a wood sealant like this one. Stores around me do not carry marine grade paint or varnish.
I like the idea of the epoxy countertop paint more as it would be durable, provide a solid coating that won't be easily scratched off and I could make the enclosure either a light green or a light blue which I think would be aesthetically pleasing to look at. I would like to use a lighter color to help keep the enclosure brighter during the daylight.
