Hi I was currently trying to find out info on providing feeders insects to zoo, rescues, breeders, pet stores and pet owners. For some market research I was wondering how many feeders does a pet store , zoo, breeder/owner consume a week/month? I understand when talking about wholesale where talking about huge numbers but I was looking for an estimate of how huge
-thanks!

I don't know how helpful we can be. Most of us are just regular tortoise keepers with one or two animals, and they don't eat insects. For my species that do eat insects, box turtles, red and yellowfoots, I find the insects here on my property. I occasionally buy a can of crickets or meal worms to mix in with my box turtles' fruit/veggie meal, but that's like maybe once every two months.

A pet store might be able to give you and average. Something like: "We sell 10,000 crickets a week…" Or maybe its only 1000 for a particular store. I think pstores will give you the most useful info for what you are after.

This will vary wildly with pet owners depending on age, species, number of animals and size of animals. Most people will use a half dozen or so correctly sized insects per lizard, but this is highly variable. Someone might use two dozen crickets for a beardie, that would only need 4 adult dubia roaches.

You'd need to narrow your question a lot, but that narrowing will make your answers less useful. I think pet stores will give you the most useful info for what you are after.
