Interpet Triton Reptile Bulbs ?

I found some Interpet Triton Reptile fluorescent tubes, 24 inch 18 watt 30% uva 5% uvb,for $8 each. Has anyone used these or heard of them (i haven't) I guess what I really want to know are they safe for tortoises? Thanks, Len

I personally would jump on em.....what type of tortoise/turtle will you be using them on? Where did you find them at?

I just found an article on it at the UV meter user group..Numbers weren't that great basically all done at 12"

No reflector...
6" - 38uW
9" - 26uW
12" -19uW

With reflector ..
6" - 82uW
9" - 54uW
12" -37uW

From what I have been told 50uW is right around the lowest uou want...

But for $8 how can you pass them up especially If they work for your setup..
