Is this a peperomia? AND is it safe?

Juicy leaves and stem and brittle leaves "crack" when bent, stems jointed and grow readily from leaf nodes after a pruning. I have 2 plants, same but one is lighter green than the other...light exposure?

Thanks,
PaulD

Yup. Peperomia for sure. Safe, but very likely to be eaten or smashed if they can reach it/go over it. Very bright light to bright indirect light would be best. A bit of morning sun would be ideal if that is available.

Thanks - the plant will live outside the enclosure in my new "Tortoise Garden". Once I've got new leaves, I'll start supplementing with a different leaf each day.
So far:
Peperomia
Saintpaulia
Spider Plant
Chia sprouts
Opuntia
Carrot tops
