Is this a type of hibiscus?

It is either a hibiscus or rose of Sharon. Both are very similar. Both are also very good tortoise food.

Oh so Rose of Sharon is fine as well? Boy I got it made then in that department our neighbor is always trimming theirs! Also, they always seem to be pulling starts from their yard. I will need to go get me some starts and plant them. ;)

Correct either rose of sharon or hibiscus..both are very good for them including the leaves. They do attract ants.

It is a Rosé of Sharon which is a type of Hibiscus. It is an excellent food for torts.
