My tortoise always lies down with her legs in a weird position like this;

Probably normal, some like basking in weird way

This what the tortoise display he been very comfortable or contented.

This is great sign that your tortoise are happy, and using this post of position saying you did a great job of taking care of him or her.

that's good to hear sparky lie's in some pretty weird ways too. he likes to lie half on half off 1 rock and use the next 1 as a pillow. hope u don't mind me adding pics to your thread but he's so darn cute i cant help my self lol

Totally normal! Tortoises stretched out when they are happy or absorbing heat from the light. Torts sleep in the cutest ways

On instagram we call it "pinwheeling" franklin does it, he also uses the side of this log as a pillow.
