Some people on this forum tend to advise against those types of bulbs. There have been reports of eye problems (as serious as blindness) in torts and the owners were using that style of bulb when it occurred.

Almost all people who use that bulb have tortoises with a condition similar to snow blindness. I would NEVER use that!
