planning outdoor spot for redfoot and this plant grows very wildly in the area i'm thinking i just want to make sure it is safe

That looks like ground ivy. It is a winter perennial and takes over given a chance. I've seen it listed as safe, and I hope someone will jump in here and tell us if their torts actually eat it. Ground ivy is the only plant that would grow and survive in our goose pens, because the geese would not touch it.
