Giving this guy a soak today and taking a few pics. I just had to post this pic, this guy just blows me away. I have had him since he was about 2 inches and I have loved every minute watching him grow

What a gorgeous animal! Love the wide, white radials! I'm sure he'll be superb as an adult!

Hi BigRed,
awesome looking RAD!
I just got 3 female Sri Lankan Star hatchlings, I am following the high humidity, mistings and soakings routine in hopes they will have smoother shells 2 years from now (no pyramiding), any advice you can give me?

I have never owned Sri Lanken Stars before but I think some torts are just prone to pyramid more than others. I just try to keep mine hydrated, I dont soak mine everyday but I do soak them. I keep the substrate thick enough so it can be dry on the top and moist down under. What I have always done is spray or pour water under the basking light so it creats some good humidity and it dries out fairly quick. Good UVB lighting is essential for good development. I recently got a chance to see a friends tortoise which is a radiated and he had no UVB and the tort was getting soft. UVB and REAL SUN are so important and a variety as far as diet goes. I almost got some Sri Lanken Stars awhile ago but had to check myself:D Normal daily care and Im sure they will develop nice
