ok, I know this female, Piglet, has mated. She has been acting a bit strange today. She lives with 3 other females and one male. She has been chasing everyone today and twice I found her with her but end down almost in a vertical position. At first, I thought she was stuck and helped her out. But, she did it again. Is this a sign she is going to lay eggs?

Looks like she is digging a nest. Which means she could potentially lay eggs in there. Or it can be a test hole. I would not bother her and if other tortoises are bothering her I would remove them from the enclosure until she is done.

Ok , here they are. Temps holding between 87 to 90, useing a ink bird thermostat instead of the built in controller. I am afraid I will be up all night checking on them.

In the future, leave the eggs where they are and let your incubator run and stabilize overnight.

I hope you see some babies in a couple of months!

Well after reading in the breeding forum, I made some changes. I replaced the damp vermiculite with dry. Now, should I cover the container that they are in ? What should the proper temp range be? Right now it is running between 87 and 90.1 degrees. If I close the container, will they still get the humidity they need?

What are the proper temps for the eggs? I have it down to 87.4 to 88.5. Is this good? Also, I changed the vermiculite to dry stuff. Do I still need to cover the eggs? Will they get the humidity if I do?

@Carol S hatched some of the babies that I bought. She'd know better than me.
