Can I ask u how u got your extremely large male Aldabras?
Because I was talking to a Guy that had Aldabra hatchlings for sale at the expo in Arlington and I was telling him that I see pictures of yours on the forum and stuff and he looked like he didn't believe me.
He showed me the picture of the male from the zoo he used with his female and it looked just like Sampson , that's why I brought up the pictures.
I wanted to buy the little babies pretty bad but I know I couldn't afford or house them right now LOL
They were a very light brown colored though, much lighter than the pictures of hour hatchlings

:tort: Thank you.

:tort: We purchased two of our males from zoos and the third from a church.

:tort: We are no longer receptive to breeding loans of any sort. We did have females at our program on loan from different sources years ago.

The Guy at the expo told me the largest male in captivity was 600 pounds and was at a zoo
I seriously can't believe I can't remember what zoos he said

You are probably thinking of the male at the Ft Worth zoo, they reportedly have the largest male aldabra in any zoo.

Lucky you! I tried to go on Sunday after NARBC, but the weather was too bad. They recently built a new reptile exhibit which is supposed to be awesome. My good friends father in law was the head guy on its creation. I plan on going as soon as the weather lets up and I can get enough time to drive up from Austin.
