this is my favorite list to reference

there are many more though...

When you grow plants for them do you start from seeds, buy at a greenhouse. Or plant your own in organic soil you can buy from a greenhouse. Im so nervous about pesticides and fertilizers. was thinking of starting some plants now from seeds indoors so I have them growing when they arrive but was worried what dirt to use. I cant jsut go outside and dig some up the ground is frozen.

was going to put in some artificial plants to. Do they ever try to eat these and get sick.

I start most of mine from seeds in organic moss and coconut coir if they are going to be eaten, or buy organic plants when possible.

I used to grow them in the windowsill in those pots made of paper. I would peal off the paper pot and plant them into the indoor enclosure every couple days. Now that they spend all summer outdoors I grow them in the outdoor enclosure. over the winter (up until this last freeze) I would just go and take clippings of the plants outside to feed them indoors. the freeze killed off most of the plants I had in there so I am going to reseed the enclosure feb 1st. I use the seed mix from carolina pet supply, bird seed, grass seed, and I plant a couple of edible flower seeds like pansies. once everything is big enough that they wont demolish it before it can grow back I let them into the enclosure.

the outdoor enclosure has a top soil layer of moss and coco coir to help the seedlings take root.

not much... between the grass seed, the 1lb carolina supply seed, and the bird seed I still have enough to plant this spring. I am only running low on the carolina supply seeds. I mix the grass with the carolina supply seed mix, and plant that all over. I plant the bird seed and flowers in specific patches :) the bird seed gets too big to eat after a while but I leave some of the bigger stuff in to provide shade around the hide to keep them even cooler
