hi there eveyone. I am a Newbie in the world of :tort: .

I had owned to leo :tort: but they both were sick and died.

Now, I figured the right care for them, and maybe will purchase 1 or 2 more. just wanted to know, at what age do they start eating grass? second, can I grow Barley Sprouts and when the barley grass is long enough, put the tortoise there? see, I got chickens, rabbits, and a bunch of other animals. so, for them, I have kept a system of Barley, and I feed the fodder to my animals. perhaps I can designate a place where i keep the tortoise and in that sprout Barley, so my main question here is can I feed it barley grass?

Hi, and welcome to the Forum!

Barley grass is pretty high in many different nutrients. In my opinion, it should not be fed as the main part of the diet. Barley grass along with other grasses and weeds would be ok, but not all by itself every day.

Are you planning to get a baby or juvenile or adult leopard? That makes a little bit of a difference, in the foods. Most babies do not have a taste for grasses quite yet. That comes later, as they get older.

Also, FrostyTortoise, remember that babies need hot and humid conditions, not frosty, LOL! : )

Here is a link I think you might like. I do because it has pictures. Foods for leopards. Remember, when it comes to food, variety for vitality! : )
