license and permits

Hi,

I live in southern California and i've always wanted to have some Burmese Stars. I know they are an endangered species. What kind of license/permit do I need to buy, keep, and maybe sell them if they have babies?

I don't think you need any permit or license to buy stars in California. I went to a reptile show in SoCal a few years ago and they had baby stars for sale. No permit required.

Maybe a permit is required to bring the tortoise across state lines, but I don't know that for sure.

This might be side-tracking, but IMO the only reason to buy any endangered/near extinct tortoise should be to breed them.
