Apparently you can put a litter tray with cat litter in , in the tortoise house and the tortoise will go in there instead of any wear it wants ???

I've not heard of this before? Alan goes when I soak him, outside or on his travels around the house but I've never seen or found anything in his enclosure

I don't think that's true. In fact, I bet it could be harmful should your tortoise eat the litter.
