This thread is about an abused sulcata that needed to be rescued. Her name is Baby Runt Brig, and when I received her on October 30, 2012 from Arizona, she weighed 4 ounces at the age of 3 years old! Her backbone had been seriously deformed due to a poor diet, a lack of calcium, and a lack of vitamin D3.

The vet confirmed the diagnosis of MBD, and she had very soft spots on the front and back of her carapace, ad well as her plastron. She had signs of pyramiding, and was in poor health. Her blood work showed that she was a little anemic, had a slight elevated white cell count, and she showed some oddities with her liver and kidneys.

Naturally, I was concerned with organ failure, but my primary concern was to give her a proper diet so that she could start to gain weight. She was given her own space with proper temps and aa humid hide. [/b]
