I'm a long time tortoise owner looking to find a female companion for my 8 year old Redfoot male.

Tortoises don't do go in pairs and they don't want or need a friend. But, if you want another one, best to get two females. A pair will likely have to live separate so the male doesn't pester the female to death.

Oh yes! I'm sorry, you're right.
What I meant to say was that I want to breed him for the first time so I need to find him a "female companion", if you catch my drift.
I'll definitely be housing them in separate enclosures! Thanks!

If you have the space, a breeding colony with a male and as many females as you can house and feed is fun.
However, for finding Redfoot....6 of my current 7 and 13 of the last 14 of mine have all come from Craigslist and fellow members here on the forum.
Place a C.L. ad and sit back and wait a bit. When it rains, it pours.
