Hello. This is my first time on this site, and sadly it is due to having lost Sheldon, our 2.5yr old Hermann tortoise. He was outback and my son got distracted and lost site of him. Any advice on finding him?? It has been exactly 2 days as of now. We have searched seemingly everywhere, and are devastated.

Someone on the forum bought a thermal camera and found a "hot spot" and it was there tortoise. For now I would put their favorite food out with water. Put up flyers too. Good luck.

I am not sure it will give you some hope, but in the late 90s, I had an adult red foot escape my backyard and couldn’t find him anywhere. I put up signs and two weeks later a little boy was knocking on my door holding my tortoise! So it can be found if you are in the right neighborhood.
