Male or Female?

Hi, okay so..... I wanted to see if the guy from petsmart who sold me my russian was telling the truth that it was a female. He looked like he didn't know what it was. I don't know either 'cause im new at tortoises. So please may you guys tell me if it is a female or not? :D please? I hope the pictures help :)

Sorry it def. looks male to me, nice big old tail there.

Really? :O They told me you can see if its male or female by the plastron ( 'em i saying it right?).
The plastron on male and female russians are the same. Males have long tails that they hold to the side, and females have short straight tails.

I have a male and a female and the male has the long tail which he holds to the side and the female has a short tail. Yours looks to be a male. God Luck!!

Well i live in an apt. So i wanted something that stays small that i can take outside and the manager wont be too mad. :cool:

So glad you aren't upset to have a male Russian! Hands down my male has far more personality than the females! They have personality of course but my boy has what I call "swagger!" Very much more social than the girls.
