Males Together?

Hi there. I currently have a 2ish year old male Russian Tortoise. I found a woman that is looking to get rid of 2 other Russians. Not sure of the sex (waiting for an email response). Just wondering if it would be ok to put 2 males together with a female, just in case she has one of each. I dont want to cause any problems with my Bubba. Thanks in advance!

With new animals there should be at least a 6 month quarantine period before they are introduced. 2 males and 1 female Russians isn't a good ratio for a group. Both males will harrass the female and each other, so you'd be asking for trouble with those numbers.

And what Danny didn't say is that Russians are really aggressive with each other, so after the 6 month quarantine, keep'em separate...LOL seriously, if you don't have a big area you really don't want 2 males with one female. The males with fight with each other and cause some real damage, and they will literally pester the life out of the female. They just don't ever stop and within a couple of months you'll have a dead female and injured males...Not a good idea, UNLESS you have the outside space and they can all get away from each other in that space...JMHO

Have you found out yet if they are two males, two females, or one of each yet? Keeping fingers crossed you either are looking at two females or two males...and that yours is a male. Then you have a pretty good chance of things working out.
