I have a bag of mixed soil sand and has little stones in it this is for his table, in his bed is wood chips as advised by a shop.
Iv been told on here to get coco coir which I have just ordered to pick up this week, do I put that in both areas for him?? And do I need to keep it wet/damp?? Also how often should I completely change it??

Sorry for all the questions just really trying to get this right for him xx

:D good choice on switching it out!
What type of wood chips?Pine and cedar are no-nos... Coco coir hold moisture reasonably well, and slightly damp is great. Just mist inside the enclosure several times a week to maintain it. Not dripping, mind, but wet enough so that it sticks a little too your hand if you touch it.
If you take good care of it (pick up poop and urates with plastic baggie/fish out any pelletes and uneaten greens that could get mixed in) coco coir can lasts about a year, as it naturally breaks down dirt inside it.

What species and size tortoise?

Generally yes, I would use that in both areas instead of what you have. Just know that you will need a thick layer of it and you will need to hand pack it down. After about two weeks it gets less messy and doesn't stick to everything so much.
