Finally got my long awaited tortoise! I can't believe how much character she has already! I expected a while of slowly handling her etc before she got friendly but she's obviously been well handled in the shop and has been so cheeky all day! She seems to love snuggling up down my top and going to sleep lol love this wee ninja! I'm not 100% sure and not really sure how to find out either :( I'd love to know though!

It's frustrating isn't it. I got Shelby in August from a pet store and didn't really know much about tortoises, just that I went in regularly and was always drawn to them. But I assumed she was a baby. The guy in the pet shop didn't really know all that much just about the care the shop had provided but once I put pics on here and measured her the forums chaps told me she was about 6-10 years old, not really a baby lol wonder where she has spent all her life, I wish I knew more about her past and where she come from. Mrs t doesn't look that much smaller than Shelby. Shelby was around 4 inches long and 3 inches wide if I remember :)

I don't have a tape measure but its on my to buy list so I can keep track of her growth. She fits nicely into the palm of my hand. I think looking at all tortoises faces closely the look like old men lol do you know much about growth rate, I take it they don't grow quick early on in life?
