Hey everyone, I don't give my Tort any Spinach leaves, which seems to always be in the mixed greens pack I buy. But my brother does when feeding his Tort. Is it okay for them to eat Spinach? I thought it wasn't. Kinda confused.

As part of a varied diet, and that is the key, variety in the diet, it is okay. It has nutrients and micronutrients that are good along with the oxalates which do bind calcium and can as in could, create a problem. Also, keep your baby hydrated. This helps things to move along. Keep and use the good stuff, expel/poop out what they do not need. My rule is a rainbow a day, or at least 5 shades of green. It's when people feed nothing but one thing, all day, every day, for weeks on end and then they dehydrate their poor little tortoises, that problems happen. Variety is a very good thing and helps to cover all nutrient bases for a healthier tortoise! : )

I don't pull spinach out of Spring Mix. With variety it's fine.

Sometimes, I notice they'll eat everything BUT the spinach. When that happens I take a long break from it.
