Squirt has decided to keep me on my toes lately
we’ve had some lovely warm days here in the uk, so naturally she’s enjoying her time in the sun.
I noticed the one day she looked to be having an intense rummage through the grass and chowing down on something, I looked closer and could see she was pulling out mouthfuls of moss, I thought nothing of it at the time because she’s never eaten moss out there before, I redirected her and figured it was a fluke.. but over the next few days she continued to root through the grass to get to any random patches on the lawn, there’s not loads of it, it’s mainly long grass and some weeds out there, but there’s enough of it that it’s difficult to remove it all from underneath the grass.
Obviously we know to never purposely expose her to it, or place it inside an indoor set up, but outside it’s the same as not being able to pick up each and every small pebble, but knowing not to purposely put gravel in.
It’s never been an issue before so we’ve never seen it as a problem, she has enough to do and eat out there, her diet is as good as a captive diet can be, she gets weeds, greens, fruits, Arcadia pro optimized, weekly protein, supplement etc.. I can’t figure out why she suddenly seems to be seeking it out! It’s like she’s obsessed with a new discovery
The folks were sat watching her the other day, and kept having to stand up when they could tell she was mooching down for some. I’ve pulled up as much as I could, but it’s damn frustrating! In all the years, she’s only ever eaten the clover, bits of grass, other weeds and whatever food we put out, it’s so odd.
She pooped some out today, so I know she’s managed to get a few mouthfuls at least, I’m glad she’s passing it, but don’t want her to keep doing this for obvious reasons.. anyone got any tips for pulling moss up, without ruining the lawn?

That grumpy face definitely screams ‘trouble maker’
