I have 2 cherry heads and one yellow foot. I've had them for about 8 years living in Houston, Texas. My husband's job is moving us to Denver, Colorado. I really want to keep my tortoises, but I don't know how I could in the Denver climate. They are getting too big to be kept in a terrarium . Any ideas, or should I just sell them?

I keep a sulcata about 5 hours north of you. It isn't easy but it can be done. I don't want to comment any specifics about housing etc because I don't know about keeping your species of tortoise, but myself and a few other "cold climate keepers" that I know of have dedicated heated rooms to their tortoises for the winter as well as heated/lit/insulated garages, sheds etc. I believe it can be done successfully and with a lot of planning and hard work over a period of time, the animals can be given a good quality of life.

Here's a few links that came to mind that show what other cold tort keepers are doing. Most aren't specific to your species, but I thought it might be helpful to look at a few of these photos. I'm sure there's much more on the forum than I can come up with.
