I planted the 2 mixes today. I will keep this updated with growth progress.

It cost $35 not including the seed mix.

I drilled holes in the bottom of tub for drainage.

I did not use all of the seed as I have plans to spread it around in other places.

This stuff should grow like wildfire out here in SoCal. :)

Indeed!

I found that radishes and clovers sprouted and grew so fast that they choked everything else out. When they get a little larger, you might want to thin those two a bit

If you aren't sure which those are, the radishes were the very first thing to sprout! There are tons of them already, with the widespread two leaves.

The clovers will look like clovers by it's them to thin them.

Oh wow! Thanks for the heads-up! I love radishes so I'll chomp them myself.

I don't think you'll get further than radish sprouts, there are so many in there! You could probably pull some now. Radishes will choke out the other plants practically overnight; ask me how I know.

Haha how do you know? I'll pick some out in the AM and offer them to Tostada (my Tort)

Let's just my experience was not positive. I spread the seeds waaaaay too thick in my planter box and young plants got choked out pretty quickly...except radishes.

You planted too many seeds.
Wait untill you see what you get!
If you trim the leaves back, the plants will grow back several times, making for a LOAD of food.

About a month later and this is what it's looking like. I have been trimming the tops with scissors and feeding them to her so they would be much taller if I had not. Also planted some wheat grass. She loves all of it! Definitely worth the purchase. Additionally, I planted some Zinnia and Gazania which I'll keep updated in this post. 24 hours later and already popping through quite well!

Do you have any issues with animals eating the testudo mix plants?

Sorry I meant outdoors.

Lol, she is outdoors but I see what you mean.

Cabbage worms (caterpillars) are particularly hard to manage on my turnips. We don’t have rabbits or deer hopefully someone can speak to that kind of animal.
