So I was looking over a few diffrent tortoise websites and I just thought of something? I was going to take a small bookcase (Doorless; like you get at target that are small) and turn it over on its back.

Here are 3 other people I found who I think got the same idea. (First Three Pictures)

I really want to do a tortoise table but my wife says she doesn't want a animal taking over one of her rooms. So I currently keep my Redfoot in my bedroom in a plastic tub. (Fourth Picture is the Enclousure I currently have him in)

Which I myself and I can tell he does not like. I think it's time for him to have some walking space, because currently where he is in, he can't do much of, and I don't want to keep taking him out everyday, just to walk and poop In our bathroom -__o He is startled and ski-dish. I would be too!

Yes, No? Give me your ideas or opinions.

I've seen quite a few people use bookcases, old dressers, pretty much anything you can think of. I think any opportunity to give him more space would be awesome. I'm getting ready to get something bigger for my baby sulcata and I was thinking of the old dresser we have. Just make sure you waterproof it so the moisture isn't an issue.

I think book case style tortoise tables are a great way to go for older tortoises of the smaller species, but for babies, or for a humidity loving species like the redfoot, I prefer closed chamber style enclosures.

I agree with Tom. If you wanted to use the bookcase, just make sure to waterproof it well, and you can add a "lid" with plexiglass windows to hold the humidity in.
