Hey gang, my name is Dan and I'm excited to be a part of your community. I love turtles and am mainly focused on Terrapins right now with a few other side projects. If I had more space (or lived in a warmer climate) I would certainly be raising Tortoises as well.

Well it's a northern black knobbed map turtle. Very close!

Actually, just looked up your common name and sawback is the same as northern:
Graptemys nigrinoda

I think sawback sounds cooler though so I'm gonna have to start using it

Incidentally, I'll let you in on a little secret. Google Image is my friend. I'm not nearly as informed or smart at identifying turtles, tortoises or plants as I have everyone here fooled into thinking I am.

It all depends upon how good the description you use in the search box is.

Sh-h-h-h...don't tell anyone. I sort of like them thinking I know a lot of stuff.
