This is my indoor enclosure for a 5 inch Russian tort. We are also building a larger outdoor enclosure for summertime use. If anyone has good ideas or pics for an outdoor enclosure I would love to see those. This is for bad weather days and winter, as I live in Wisconsin. I know it's not perfect, I just got my tortoise today so it is a work in progress. Any comments are appreciated!ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1465180252.817046.jpgImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1465180261.881848.jpg

Pics a little dark, but what I can see not bad. I don't see a water dish, so be sure there is a low sided one available to him 24/7. I would also put some kind of railing/side on the ramp. Good job

I do have a water dish under the second level stairs so that's why u can't see it. And there is also a railing on the steps we made from sticks! I'll try and get a better picture tonight. Thank you

Is your substrate small gravel? If so, this isn't good. If they accidentally eat it it will cause impaction.

Are those carrots i see in the food dish? Carrots should be fed very sparingly, in small amounts as treats.
My russian tortoises ignore their cuttlebone. I hope yours show some interest in it.

I've read that they don't like the fishy smell, so some people leave it outside to weather out the smell... I keep forgetting to put the bone outside to see if this works. But others have torts that use their cuttlebone with no problem so I'm not sure

My substrate is just dirt and play sand. Not sure why it's so chunky, some chicks are just dirt stuck together so that's not a big deal. Will watch to see if he tries eating at little rocks. Here is a better pic of the railing and you can see the water dish. ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1465249976.073121.jpg

The railings on the ramp and the upper level are absolutely adorable! I love it! :):<3:
P.S. I have a Russian tortoise too :)
