New red foot

Hey guys i got a new red foot tortoise and i was wondering if it was male or female i believe male but i would like more opinions before choosing a name anything helps thanks!

I would guess female, however in a couple years when the tortoise is bigger, my guess may change.

Thanks it just seems to have a pop out belly and not an * under the tail so im questioning it

The tail/asterisk thingey is more for the Mediterranean tortoises rather than the South American ones.

Hard to tell when they are young, but when they get older the males have a waist (hourglass shape) + bigger, longer tail and the females are rounder with shorter tails. Pls see this link, it has lots of different tortoises + red foots, photos & descriptionî„…

I would say right now that its too hard to tell because of the age.
