New sleeping habits

I have had Hatchback for just over a month. He is three months old. He used to sleep in his hide every night and a good part of the day. I haven't changed anything about his enclosure, but more often than not he is sleeping up against the wall. He is not dug down deep in the substrate and his little back end is not buried at all, just his front end. His hind legs just kind of hang there and are not pulled into his shell at all. If this is how he is comfortable I am okay with it, but want to make sure that sleeping out in the open is not a sign of sickness or anything. His eyes and nose is clear. Appetite great and completely weaned off of the leaf lettuce he was used to eating before I got him.

Mine makes a new "spot" every few weeks. She is currently doing the same thing as yours. It does not seem like an issue at all.

Thanks for your reply, lismar79. I don't want to become the "forum pest", but with all of the knowledge that you all have it would be a shame for me not to ask my questions in order for me to do they very best for Hatch. Maybe is is just becoming more comfortable with his new home and doesn't feel the need to hide as much. Thanks again!!

My russian hardly EVER uses his hide. He'll sleep anywhere, and he's been doing it since the first couple weeks I had him, so I'm not particularly concerned. He'll commonly do what Hatchback is doing, sleep with all of his legs and arms everywhere... with his head tucked completely in  (it's his favorite!) He's probably feeling safer now, and getting more 'open' and doesn't feel the need to run away and hide in the night :D (in other words, what lisamar said) :p

Thanks, I would never remove his hide. I was just fearful it was a sign of bad health.
