I just picked up my first sulcata from a breeder in AZ! I've been working on his/her habitat for a while now and I finally picked it up. The breeder said it was 2 1/2 years old. It shell is about 4 inches long. I need a name! I also posted a picture of its mama.

This is the perfect place to raise sulcatas. Congrats on the new addition!!! How are you currently keeping him?

2 1/2 years?
Are you sure?
He is very small for that age and appears to have been kept way to dry. You need to get that little one some water pronto.
First thing you need to start soaking him every day for 20-30 min. In just enough warm water to cover his bottom shell.
Next get him into an enclosure with the proper temps lighting and humidity. You also need to get him on a proper diet.
Start by reading Tom's thread at the top of the Sulcata sub forum under stickies.
By the way

Welcome to the forum
Good luck
He is a handsome little dude

Hello and WELCOME:D. Looks little dry to me also. Mother looks great. The threads of Tom's are at the bottom of my post. They are all good for raising a healthy, happy, smooth sulcata

It definitely hasn't had the best care to this point, luckily it shouldn't be too difficult to turn things around! It does look very dry and small for age but the pyramiding isn't bad at all luckily. Make sure to do daily soaks and get things back on track!

Another little girl face. Be sure to keep us in the loop. I'm doing an informal study.

Im guessing it is a year old, and it lives in a enclosure I made, you can find pictures of it in my other posts. Thanks for the feedback! This site has helped me so much.

Bermuda grass is growing in it now

Congratulations on your new baby! I just saw the best pic of a little girl holding her
sully, them the current pic of her as a middle aged woman holding her sully! Love that!
