Hi All!

We have adopted a tortoise who was, unfortunately, passed around several homes before us. I can’t speak to his first few owners, but his care was lacking with the most recent (30 gal tank, reptile carpet, tiny water bowl, and a heat lamp). He was initially described to us as a “25-year-old box turtle” so we were definitely surprised upon meeting him.

Our first vet appointment was yesterday and she identified him as a Greek tortoise. He got a much needed beak trim and an Injacom injection. Per the vet, he is 40-50 grams underweight, likely has vitamin deficiencies, and has some very slight pyramiding.

After reading through the Greek section here, I am trying to correctly determine his subspecies. I am happy to provide any additional information that may help identifying him.

Thanks so much!
