Well i have been saving up for quite some time so i could get an Aldabra. I had a giant water jug i had been putting all my change an extra bills in and had save just around 1500 but now that jug is almost empty. My poor dog thats only a little over 2 has to have his eye removed because of a weird pressure build up that made him blind in less than 2 weeks in that eye.
At least i have the money and he will be pain free soon and wearing a pirate eye patch, i think ill rename him to 1 eye willie. Well time to start over, first hand full of change going into bucket now.

Sorry to hear your dog needs an eye removed.
We had a min pin growing up that needed an eye removed. We paid only a few hundred dollars for the procedure with a very well known, great reputation vet. We opted not to put a glass ball in place (which would have cost more). This was maybe 8 years ago... Is your procedure really costing you close to your full savings amount?

Good luck with the recovery! Our girl went through a depression for a while and it took alot to get her through it. Hopefully your dog being so young bounces back very quickly!

yea it cost a lot more now. It was 200 for the first visit to see what was wrong. Then it was 150 for an eye specialist. The eye removal is going to be 1000 because we are getting the one so his socket wont sink in. I will have a little over 100 bucks left after all is said and done. I am very glad i had the money on hand so everything will be done quickly and he gets out of the pain the pressure in his eye is giving him. If i had not had the money i would had to have gotten a loan from the bank and i did not want to deal with that or pay the interest.

So sorry about your dog. So proud and happy that you are willing to pay the vet bill. Sadly many won't:(
I figure if you want to save money, do it in someone else's name. Seems every time you have money saved, the money gods, says no way, you have too much, must spend some now and something comes up.
Good luck to you and your pup on the surgery and the Aldabra is worth the wait.

You could still take out a loan to buy the tort you want. I know a lady that took out a loan to buy a couple radiated torts. I know Im a bad influence, hope everything comes out ok with your pooch

You are making the noble choice and your dream is merely experiencing a minuscule delay.
