Morning

I have noticed when my Horsefield is eating he will make a churping type squeek noise.
It isn't evertime but I have noticed twice.
Is this a sign of something wrong, maybe a infection?

Hello! A couple of times is a concern. Sometimes they can "click" with lower and upper beak when eating.

If this happens more often and not only during a meal - look for other signs of respiratory infection: frequent yawning (not just a morning yawn but every few minutes), extensive movement of front legs when breathing, discharge from nose, pale tongue and others. When a tortoise has troubled breathing, yawning and legs movement look more sporadic, less intentional and relaxed (not so easy to explain... it's somewhat similar to when you hold your breath for too long and finaly inhale)

I have only noticed it twice. Once today and once last week. I am bathing him everyday and I haven't noticed any of these other things. Is it worth me just taking him to the vets anyway? Problem is I'm not so confident with them.

No signs of a wet nose or eyes. He is moving around okay. I will keep an eye on him.

He is lovely. I wouldn't take him to a vet unless you hear him making the noise more often. Zola always squeaks when he is trying to mate with my shoe -that's usually one of the first signs !

Good advice already given here! How’s the set up getting on? Maintaining humidity ok?😊

I have finished the set up how you explained. So I have the CHL then the uv then the basking lamp. I think I am manging to get about the right temperatures.
I also put a little water in each corner when it looks to dry in there. I do keep turning the substrate over. I thought the humidity had been fairly good as I had seen droplets on the table cover?! He had a bath this evening and had a poo. I fees him once normally in the morning as he comes to greet me.
Am I doing something wrong?
