Normal looking?

Hi there,

I just adopted this new sweetie from a family that decided they didn't know how to keep a tortoise. I had a RT for 4 years previously but haven't had one for about two years. I'm curious about the coloring on this little ladies lips. Her top looks really dark and her bottom is super light. Also wondering about the little bumpies on her she'll. I plan on taking her to the vet later this week but was wondering what your educated eyeballs think.

She looks perfectly normal to me.

It looks particularly smooth for a Russian, they don't grow perfectly smooth. The coloration is normal.

Have you read the TFO care guides? They're written by species experts working hard to correct the outdated information widely available on the internet and from pet stores and, sadly, from some breeders and vets too.

Your tort looks good and by the way, very cute. Please give her a daily soak in warm water so as to avoid pyramiding and dehydration.
