Hello, everyone!

I’ve had my russian tortoise for over a year now. I just noticed his shell looks a little abnormal. I’m referencing the thick white “line” that is under his scutes. It trails all around his shell. I’m wondering is this just normal growth or is this something I need to be concerned about? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Ok, after some more digging I figured it’s a growth ring. It is soft in texture - however, it is more pronounced than I anticipated. I’m posting a photo below for another reference - this was taken February 9th. He is on a diet of mixed grocery greens, including dandelion greens, collard greens, endive, romaine, and occasionally some Zoomed grassland tortoise pellets. He eats 5 times a week. He has a UVB hood lamp that is on for 12 hours a day as well as his heat lamp. I hope this provides some more info!
