My 3year old boy has stopped eating and hasn't moved for the past 2 days, I know the weathers got colder but he normally still moves about and eats. I moved house in October and he has seemed abit unsettled since then really but he got a lot better the past few weeks but has now just stopped doing anything.
I've been reading some posts on here and I don't think he's got the right bedding, he never has seemed to have a problem with it but by the looks of the posts it's not to good for him? He has the pellets in one section and then wood chippings and the tortoise sand/soil that I buy from my local garden centre in the other section. I keep reading about cypress mulch and top soil? He has a heat lamp in both sections and his temperature is around 85-90 I think, he's also in the room where the boiler is so this gives off some heat to.

Sorry to dribble on I'm just worried after reading posts on here that I'm not doing the right thing by him :( I don't want my boy being unhappy or poorly in anyway. If any one has got any advice I'd be very grateful. Thanks so much.
The picture is from a few years ago but thought I'd upload one so you can see his pretty face :) ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1419633029.982254.jpg

You need to provide us with accurate temps. Basking spot? Cool side? Warm side? Night temps?

Temperatures are everything to reptiles and we need you to have those in ideal spots before we can start thinking of anything else that may be wrong with him.

Yes that bedding is also not ideal for tortoises however we need to go down the list starting with the most crucial which are his Temperatures.

Yep temps and humidity levels. We need them to help you, the rest can wait.... Temps cannot. It sounds like your tort is sick. How do you measure your temps and why type of lighting and heating do you use?

Soak him in some warm water and list your temps for us please. Get rid of the wood chips it has toxic properties to torts.

Do you have your lights on a timer so he gets a consistent 12 hours per day?

He's got a basking spot under both of his lights, and as his tank is big the side where his lights aren't are the cooler areas. His lights are on for probably more than 12 hours a day there not on a timer though, I turn the temp up every morning and lower it down of a night time, the temp in the day is between 85-95. He's got 2 heat bulbs and a uv bulb one side as the other side is by the window so he gets alot of light from there. He ate most if his food yesterday and moved around a little bit so I don't know if he was just having a off day. Thanks
