Basically this is a new border planted in October 18, but obviously I didn't plant the weeds that have come through...I assume they came with the soil. Problem is, I have no idea if it is safe or not, any ideas?

It sort of looks like horseweed - not edible.

Agreed, horseweed. Turns into a hideous, tall weed. Pull it!
