OC shelter special needs...

Sorry i dont have much more info. But on Facebook I was tagged for a Desert Tortoise that was at this shelter.. Orange County? Southern Calif..?? he looks to have a nasty URI and needs meds.. Of course at Most shelters.. he wont get this... or the proper care, diet, heat etc.. This was a few days ago.. and Im pretty sure rescue have been contacted,, but thouhgt Id post here for those of you down south..

reading the posts.. it looks like he may be rescued.. just not sure..

Man I hope someone gets that tort because it needs help and fast! It just makes me sick to see a tort in that kind of shape. Ill have to get my little Cooper out of his hide box and let him lay with me now cause that pic just made me sick to my stomach!

I don't facebook (i know what a relic ) so could not go to the link...I hope that CTTC or Fish and Game has been notified so that they can rescue/pick him-her up.....sounds bad though

All the shelter has to do is call the local CTTC, our adoption chairwoman gets several calls a month about turtles and tortoises in shelters.

Have you found it yet? I looked at the OC Shelter and didn't find any tortoises. How old was this tortoise and what kind of shape was it in?

The link worked fine for me. You have to be logged in to Facebook to see it. Just delete her email and put your in. It won't allow you in unless you have a Facebook account.

O.K. Fernando that worked for me, but I still go to the OC Shelter and see nothing posted about a tortoise. I've tried 4 different times now.

The OC Shelter is pretty good at making sure CDTs get out to proper tort rescues. I was told by their adoption coordinator that all of their CDTs go to a rescue.

The OC Shelter is where I got Keita, one of my Sullies. They do normal adoptions for reptiles on a "raffle" basis.
